ROADSHOWS 2008: Introduction to the work of MTM:UK

AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR NEW WRITERS OF MUSICAL THEATRE

PLEASE JOIN US IN LEEDS, LIVERPOOL, LONDON OR EDINBURGH

MTM:UK has 150 members at present, grown by word of mouth over the last two years. Now we wish to make sure a wider gathering of theatre professionals and aspiring/emerging creatives consider the value of joining MTM:UK – because Musical Theatre Matters.

MTM:UK works closely with Mercury Musical Development (MMD) which represents writers in the UK, and for that reason MTM:UK is not open to writer members. However for the following series of meetings writers are welcome to attend, and share in discussion about opportunities.

We are hosting four mini-gatherings to introduce the aspirations and work of MTM:UK, and pass on news about MMD. We are grateful to Arts Council England and the Federation of Scottish Theatre in particular for helping to champion these meetings, and all those other trade bodies who have kindly agreed to pass on this invitation.

The aim of each meeting is to make a few connections between people determined that Musical Theatre Matters, suggest that you might wish to become full members at £45 per annum or £100 for an organisation, and to update you on a range of projects such as the MTM:UK Musical Theatre Awards at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the Perfect Pitch season of new work in London, and a range of opportunities for writers to hone their craft.
